Who are the Friends of Castaic Lake?
The Friends of Castaic Lake (FOCL) are a group of dedicated volunteers who
continue to make a positive impact on the Castaic Lake Recreation Area.
Formed in 1983 as a nonprofit group whose mission is to support and enhance
the operation of the County
of Los Angeles' largest
regional park, the FOCL conduct
fundraisers and special events to support park programs and projects.

- March 2008 - 2nd Annual Friends of Castaic Lake Bassing for Kids Team
Tournament
15 teams gathered, tubers gathered on this day for the 2nd
annual Friends of Castaic Lake Bassing for Kids team tournament to
benefit the lake's Jr Lifeguard Program. High winds had plagued the lake

- April 26, 2008 Friends of Castaic Lake, Float Tube Derby
The 6th annual FOCL float tube derby took
place on Castaic's famed Lower Lagoon on April 26th,
2008. A total of 36 tubers came out to search for bass under calm,
clear conditions which changed into strong breezes by the 1PM weigh

- 2007 Charity Bass Derby, April 7
A group of 15 teams gathered on this day for the 1st annual FOCL charity
bass derby to benefit the Samuel Dixon Health Center and the Castaic
Lake Jr. Lifeguard Program. This event was put in place to effectively
replace the old Bassing for Abused Kids Charity event.
